I have two pairs for trainers in rotation, and I think it helps reduce repetitive strain. The key for me was two different models - I've been doing something like alternating Ghost/Revenna or Ghost/Glycerine. I typically don't go more than 2-3 runs without switching it up. Plus a pair of racing shoes.

I've put some merit in the theory that wearing different shoes on different days could help reduce repetitive strain injuries by loading the body slightly different. Not sure if this is actually true but it at least seems like it might make sense and I don't see the harm.
