Ovett would be at home with that 1500 start.

The only one in the world this year, that could eventually beat Athing Mu.

Wow indeed. 55.85 at the bell for the pacer? Alemu couldn't cope with it.
Wow^
Ajee Wilson’s gold medal hopes take another major blow.
Take a look at this woman’s IAAF profile:

And Hesele (?) who was 3rd in 1:58.71 isn't even in the WA database.
Leme 3:31.90
Also had never run at sea level.
DRIOUCH - 3:33,55.
Olympic 1500 is going to be INSANE

Lots of people could do that in Tokyo. Her safe bet is the 400m. Lots can go wrong in an 800m even if you turn up fastest on paper. Ask Seb Coe, Ajee Wilson and so on. Last world level title was won in a mere 1.58 even though Wilson was a 1.55 runner. Mu has zero international experience.
Dang these Ethiopian female middle distance runners really came to play, even without the WR holder..

Mu has said she is running the 800M at the US Trials. I suppose she could always change her mind if she busts a 48 high or something at NCAAs though.
I'm looking for athletes to bet on to win and also to medal at the Olympics. There is smart money available to be made since the odds makers are not track experts. I am betting 10k-100k bets. Workwuha Getachew could be a good bet. I was looking at Bekele but he's out so I'm glad I didn't bet on him.

Mu is very young, super talented and has little to lose. Getachew, who just ran 1:56.67, also has zero international experience. So medal is definitely possible, maybe even gold.
Now in 400m Miller-Uibo is a lock for gold and then there's two Namibian 400m teen phenoms with better PBs than Mu.
Why are there pacers and a wave light in trials races?
Guys...3 days ago I somehow sent my sister a link to Freweyni Hailu’s World Athletics profile while I was LITERALLY ASLEEP, which was obviously concerning to me. Now she’s the world leader at 3:57.

Yeah I should probably have said 'her safe bet would have been...'. In the 800 I feel she may have a better chance of gold but she also has a much bigger potential downside. Hard to see her coming lower than 4th in the one lap.
Gonna be Muktar, Wale, and who cares?
Also Welteji just went from 4.09 to 3.58!
