Agree with Bolt on this one. Young sprinters need to have some room to grow up in the sport. Watson apologized fully and has otherwise always been a good kid and a great athlete. Move on.

What do you thin of Antonio Watson's celebrationk? Given my past mentoring of Jimmy Wyner, I don't think I'm the best person to comment.
Do yourself and watch the video(s). If only the US broadcasters were that entertaining.

Doesn’t matter, he won, he can do what he wants. It would’ve been funnier if he’d pulled off his shorts and taken a poop on the track. Guess he just wasn’t ready for that one though.

So what about the hundreds of other young sprinters at this meet watching him do this? They see no real consequences. What exactly have THEY learned? If aiming an imaginary gun and shooting it at the direction of the person you just beat isn't grounds for poor sportsmanship DQ, what is?
The guy in second was first loser. Rub his useless loser nose in it so he learns not to be a loser next time.
Honestly, the fact this a headline and the runner had to apologize is why non-runners don't watch track events. The guy was just having some fun after a pretty impressive kick... no big deal.

Consequences? The death penalty perhaps? The facility should be burned to the ground and replaced with a historical marker in remembrance of this tragic event! If you had shared recess with me in first grade, I would have riddled you with imaginary machine gun bullets and then shared my cookies with you at lunch. Harden the F up!

Are you being sarcastic . Some people in Jamaica were upset about it and lots of people are talking about it there.
Unless you are being sarcastic, your post is a prime example of what's wrong with the world in the year in 2021. We've sadly taugh tpeople to think everything that is bad in the world is the results of racism and/or sexism of homophobia/transphobia. We haven't taught people that shi* happens to everyone - white , black brown, etc.
0.4% of the population in Jamaica is white. Whatever the reaction is there - it's not racist.

Yes, rojobot couldn't have done it any better...
Okay I did myself and I watched the video. Now what?
As you said to watch the video and do myself and as i did
If you’re going to be ok with him mock pointing a gun at the other racer before the race is even over then you should also think it’s “ok” if the other racer just cheap shotted the heck out of him.
I’m ok with both. I would of laughed if the dude in second would of clipped in right in the chin and put him to sleep.
Now I don’t think this should ruin the kids life or anything but he definitely messed up. Can’t happen again. Especially against grown men in a third world country.

Problem, and there is nuff problem, is that this boastiness permeates Jamaican culture from the gully to the money.
Only way it a going stop is an immediate disqualification each and every single time. Lick em back and mek dem see yuh mean business.

The only DQs I have ever seen for sportsmanship are throwing the baton. Most officials don't want to get involved in grey areas like vulgar language or taunting actions. Especially if you don't get to watch a video a couple times . Occasionally you so get the guy who is looking for reasons to disqualify anyone . Generally for minor uniform stuff.
It is sad that people like you exist. Very flaccidly al sharpton of you.

Some thoughts:
-A sprinter chasing down his opponent, then accurately hand-puppet-shooting him just as he crosses the finish line, is straight gangsta. The cocking and shooting of the sexond hand-puppet-gun was a nice touch.
-Jamaican TV is exactly what I would have expected it to be, if I had ever spent time contemplating what it would be like. The green-screen-dominated set, the fake audience, and the very exhuberant but sensible host (who is awesome, btw).
Noah Lyles on Pre 10,000s: "Why in the world are we hosting another countries Olympic qualifier?"
