It's not a good sign when athletes pick up injuries in their teens. There are quite a few promising careers that have ended that way, before they came to fruition.

Waitaminute...the kid that finished in fifth in 1:44.51 was Roznicki. He's a year younger than Burgin. Lol. That's crazy.
Meanwhile, Kenya's big 800m hope is 33 years old.
None of their 800m team members are 33.

Talking about Rotich? He's 31. The other two members of the team (Korir and Saruni) just turned 26. The two hard-luck guys (as far as a stacked field vis a vis most countries) left off are Ngeny (25) and Kinyamal (soon to turn 24).
Any data here to correlate? Guess we're looking for a 22-28 year old that can run around 1:43 in a championship setting -
2016, David Rudisha (KEN - 27yrs old), 1:43.88
2012, David Rudisha (KEN - 23yrs old), 1:40.91
2008, Wilfred Bungei (KEN - 28yrs old), 1:44.90
2004, Yuriy Borzakovskiy (RUS - 23yrs old), 1:44.45
2000, Nils Schumann (GER - 22rs old), 1:45.08
1996, Vebjorn Rodal (NOR - 24yrs old), 1:42.58

He’s incapable of refraining from lying. His word is mud.

Kinyamel and Ngeny weren't even in the Kenyan trials.
And for me, it's looking like Emanuel Korir (KEN) or Donovan Brazier (USA), or Kinyama as the most likely candidates based on historical data.

Where are you getting your info? Ngeny finished 4th and Kinyamal appears to have DNF'ed. Something fishy was going on to end up with so many starters in the finals, but the top 3 showed their superiority to navigate it and finish so far ahead.

In fact taken with Burgin's 17yo pr of 1:45xx ....or his 1:47xx @ 16yo
I'd say Burgin's trajectory is even better than Brazier.
No, he’s equivalent to a college sophomore. Brazier turned 19 in April. Ran 1:43.5 in June.
Burgin turns 19 tomorrow. Runs 1:43.5 possibly never.
If he was a sophomore that would mean he started college whilst he was 17.
He competed in a schools race in February 2020, so he would still have been at school in the summer. This would be his freshman year.

Hey, Coevett... remember when I said we can't trust Max Burgin? Yeah. Thank you. Same with the redhead kid.
Same with Brazier it seems

+1000
Loool
This dude hasn't raced in nearly a year. Even Brazier, who was in a boot and on crutches, has raced since then.
What do you mean Brazier who? Oh thats right the-- WORLD CHAMPION!!! Remind me again how many world titles Max Burgin has.
This thread is funny.
