'Way back in the day I used a glue gun to extend the life of my runners' shoes. It had a kind of pistol grip, you plugged it in and it heated up, and then you pushed a glue pellet (about half the length/girth of a vienna sausage) through. The gun melted the pellet and you applied it to the surface that needed building up.
Now I have a couple pairs of my favorite model of training/racing shoe, which is no longer being manufactured, and they're getting pretty worn. (The usual: one side of the heel, part of the sole, etc.) I'd like to use a glue gun to build them up, if that's even a thing nowadays.
[NOTE--I can't just buy new shoes: The newer models (that accommodate my very wide feet) have weird heels and mess up my legs.]
Anybody know about this kind of repair? Anyone have a recommended piece of equipment?
