This New Mask Optional Policy is a Huge Mistake

This is true as well. The constant holier than thou liberal condescension, sarcasm, and hypocrisy on so many things is driving the dug-in stance of many moderate right wingers who would otherwise get the jabs. The media hysteria and mocking is not helping.

Worldometer says: China: 160,000,000 tests, constant for at least a few weeks. 90,894 cases, 4636 deaths. The paper cited below is fascinating, but seems more likely that the authors faked it, along with the rest of the establishment in China. Are we supposed to believe that China got this stuff right, to the degree of perfection across millions upon millions of people, when pretty much every other technical enterprise in China is riddled with corruption and fakery?

Honestly, it’s probably the best strategy at this point, to let people mingle and spread this (among those who don’t have nascent cell-mediated immunity) over the next five warmer months where exercise & sunshine can be abundant. Not sure we get to Biden’s goal of 70% w one jab, but we will be at 50%+ completed, and we probably could be at 70% if liberal aholes would just quit their religious mockery and condescension. And, if we even get to 65% w the vast majority of the rest having acquired immunity, this thing is over. Well, but for the potential variants that the pro-vaxxers will say is the fault of anti-vaxxers while anti-Covid vaxxers will say is the fault of pro-vaxxers.

I.e. the deniers can't use this data to claim mitigations did nothing and then turn around and claim "lockdowns" killed the economy (no it was the virus -- people don't like going out when there's a deadly virus)

Personal responsibility is a thing. If masks are as effective as we've been told so long as the vulnerable wear them it shouldn't matter what the rest of us do. If you're vaccinated it doesn't matter what anyone does. Grow up. When a real pandemic hits we are absolutely SCREWED because government and the media handled COVID so badly.

The masks are not effective, that is the problem. It is almost entirely just forced conformity and ridiculous virtue signalling. Even the experts were adamant they did nothing at the start of the pandemic, but they forsake honestly for optics and politics and changed their tune without providing any real evidence for the change.

I agree the science is not 100% settled but saying they don't work is a selective reading of the evidence (or dogma).

Plenty of studies show an effect. I think the evidence supports their use.

You think I have much more power than I actually do if a few posts on a moderately trafficked message board killed a lot of people.
