Sort of under the radar. Got to say, that surprised me.

Guessing she's in a pretty big strength phase rn, as seems to be the case with her teammates. 4:14 isn't an awful 15 for a true 800 runner. Gotta be pretty similar to what Amos just did. She also ran a tactically interesting 800 a week ago. Was way in the back and split a pretty even 59-60. Passed a ton of people in the last 200 & swung pretty wide in the process.
I think, just like with Centro, we have to give top athletes the benefit of the doubt. Give her a couple months to fine tune her speed and she'll be ready to compete at the Trials. Not overly worried this far out. Would be more concerned if she was already running 1:57 & had to hold that fitness for the next several weeks.
Equates roughly to a 4:00 mile for men , which is what most of the top male 800 specialists run in a "one off" like this. She looks good for OTs.
Thank you for this reasonable take

I think the her last two races were encouraging. She has a tendency the last few years to maybe save a little too much for the last 150 in the 800. It bit her there but her fitness is coming around. With her closing speed if she in 1:58 high/1:59 low shape at Trials I trust her to run down Grace, Martinez et al. in the closing stages for the presumed third spot behind Ajee Wilson and Athing Mu.
