Klecker is running the 10,000m tonight at the Sound Running meet. Meet is at 9:30 pm pacific. Link at bottom if you want to watch.
He ran 13:06 for 5,000 earlier this year and he's got great long distance running genes. His mom, Janis, won the 1992 US Olympic Trials, and his dad, Barney, had the 50 mile world best until recently.
Predict his time (and whether he wins). Use a registered name and I'll see if we can get some On gear to who comes closest.
(Klecker runs for the OAC and On has been sponsoring our Countdown to the Trials. We're going to be talking to him next week)
Here's the field. Not sure who I'd consider the favorite. Pat Tiernan won the 10k at this meet in the fall in 27:22 and is the pacer so that is good news.
Jon in his preview focused on NCAA XC champ Connor Mantz. Mead and Korir are Olympians but not running well this year. 27:28 is the Olympic Standard and getting under that is really the main reason for everyone in this race.

Earlier I said this was Klecker's debut but that is incorrect. He ran the Sound Running invite in December and ran 27:35 but it doesn't count as an official mark as he wore racing flats that had a stack height greater than 25mm
