This. For decades, Big Pharma has lobbied for their interests. They pay millions in advertising dollars to media, including the conservative media. They unduly influence the FDA/CDC by providing six-figure "consulting" jobs for executives and upper management when they leave the FDA/CDC. If you research how FDA clinical trials are run, you'll be amazed at how bias can be slipped into the process... funding, choosing the clinics, choosing the doctors, providing grants, removing test subjects, proving efficacy, etc.
As other posters have correctly pointed out, there are legitimate reasons to provide immunity from lawsuits on vaccines, but for other drugs, the goal of Big Pharma is to "outrun the lawsuits." That is, they make billions selling a drug with the tacit understanding that they might have to pay millions in lawsuits down the road.
How much money is on the line? One article projected that Big Pharma would make $157 billion on COVID vaccines by 2025.
To me, the inability to sue Big Pharma isn't the issue. It's the calculated risk the CDC/FDA/etc are taking in pursuing mass vaccinations with only an educated guess as to the long-term adverse effects of these vaccines.
I understand the decision, but I'm disappointed at the arrogance of guys like Fauci who haven't seen a patient in 30 years in failing to use everything available to fight this disease. These include the obese losing weight (risk of death ~100% greater in men), lack of vitamin D (risk of death possibly ten-fold higher), melatonin (risk of death possibly 28% higher), not to mention hydroxychloroquine, ivermectin, and zinc.
Overwhelmingly, almost every medical professional I have asked over the past year is taking a vitamin D supplement. We know Fauci is because he admitted it in a long interview last September, but since then... <...crickets...>
