I've been running about a year, 35km per week. Enjoy it but don't know much... Two friends have approached me and asked me to run with their sons, who I know fairly well. Both boys (11 and 13) enjoy running and run around 21min 5k in the weekly Parkrun, and are keen to do it with me.
Probably run together about once a week, what's the longest run you would do with an 11 year old? Thinking of starting with 6k and working up to 10k, would involve some significant hills. Appreciate feedback on this.
This is definitely not formal coaching, but I'd like to teach good running form and help them get faster - one of the boys competes in cross country (3k at his age group) for his school. Main goal is to have a good time together and enjoy the bush (Norther Tablelands).
