With Drake winding down, too bad they won't shift over to Hayward for the W 5k.
Who's they? If you have runnerspace just open the Oregon webcast.
The stream went down. They is NBC. You do know it's on national tv also?
49.08 for UIBO!!
Huge. Didn’t look that fast. Excellent maintenance, very strong—and was nicely gassed at the end, as she always is. Maybe the best clean W400m athlete ever. LOVE her Olympic win, she deserved it.
Go Muir!
W 1500 up. How will Jenny fare? Hiltz first race as ..... Muir always races hard. Cant see Laura crossing the Atlantic to bomb.
She was out in 23. Only once before has anyone in the world run this fast or faster prior to June, and that was Miller-Uibo two years ago in Gainesville, where she ran 49.05 on April 27. She even seemed to let up a bit at the end. (her best was at World's in 2019, 48.37, behind Nasser).

The runnerspace stream went down? I was watching it just fine as I typed...
Dayum! Muir coming down from altitude is feeling it! WAY out front. 61.7 400
Yesssss💪
Goucher more than serviceable. Muir with a dominant 4:01.5

I can't get the runnerspace stream either.
1) Stick a fork in Simpson? She looked awful.
2) What does Laura Muir get out of that? I j ust don't get it. She needs to learn to run with the pack and kick. She always forces herself to stay with the leaders and has nothing left at the end, instad of measuring her effort perfectly over the final 800.
That's the opposite of what I'd have had her do if I was coaching her. I guess if she learns when she's about to blow up that would be useful but I just think that was bizarre
To go out in 61 by herself, as Muir did, with what she indicated was a significant wind, and still hold on to run 4:01 shows that she is very fit. Jenny Simpson back in 4:10 is surprising. But it is April and so meaningless for a veteran who didn't race last year. Just a rust buster. Not a good sign but she'll be there in the last 100m at Trials, I am sure.

....and what would Muir have gotten out of slumming it with that slower field?
Richards takes it over training partner 'B Team' J Lyles

Simpson needs to race a lot to get up to speed. Too early to say.
Muir didn't want a sluggish wait and kick race. She wanted to see what she could do at a real pace, in a real race with these new shoes. Getting out of your comfort zone and pushing it is a skill that has to be learned, and after a long covid gap relearned. Smart move.
How about these newbies in US W1500? Schlactenhafen 2nd at Hayward and Josette Norris wins at Drake. Will be interesting to see how they do against the vets in a heats/final situation at the trials.

I disagree. When was the last time she ran that slow? And the trials are not that far away. I was thinking before this she could still make top 3 at the trials but not after today.
End of an era. Rowbury outlasted Simpson. I’m happy about that. I thought Muir was going to set the wr, and then she didn’t even break 4. The rest of the field was lame, even for April.
Have to say when SRR first started announcing I didn't like her, but she has gotten much better. Going to be interesting to hear her on the Kentucky Derby call
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
