I would think cross country times would be a better predictor of cross country success then track times. Why not look at what schools in CA did in XC last year?

California is back open in full on June 15th . Even that brain dead governor knows he has to do it.
Nike will have NXN because they know if they don’t there are other companies that will jump in and host a HS Cross Country Championship and maybe for good. No matter what a National Championship will happen. Masks off a baby we are back!
Not going to happen. You haven't factored in the surge this summer from letting down restrictions. The wave that will hit us late fall and of course the variants. CDC just said herd immunity is not likely. Mask up!
Called it early on of course. Won't happen due to variants (delta) and new mask mandates coming down. The West Coast will be proactive in fighting this rampant surge. If delta doesn't shut it down the delta plus will. Mask up!

Any news (or hints) on NXN and the Regionals? I still see "TBD" when I look for anything official regarding NXN for 2021.
Appears the answer is yes.
https://twitter.com/milesplitca/status/1403229178338713603?s=21I took a quick look at the boys runners in the NW region.
For teams it looks like all Oregon with Jesuit then flip a coin between Lincoln and Franklin. It looks like any other school would need one or two more runners to come out of nowhere to have five top guys this year. Easily could happen as kids develop, but it isn’t obvious to me at least who that could be.
For individuals , there is an astonishing 5 guys who have run sub 9 already in the 3200. One of more of them could miss out since there are frankly a lot of guys that have 9:20 or even 9:10 speed already. One of the smaller states usually sneaks at least one guy in.
Ethan Coleman WA 8:49.5
Evan Jenkins WA 8:50.77
Isaac Teeples WA 8:51.43
Zack Munson WA 8:57.14
Michael Maiorano OR 8:51.38

I agree that Jesuit will win the Northwest region, and Franklin and Lincoln will fight for the second spot. I’d maybe put Hamilton up there too because they return everyone and had higher speed ratings than Lincoln and Franklin, but it’s pretty hard to compare Lincoln/Franklin to teams from other states based on speed ratings since they didn’t race against teams from other states last season.
Franklin would have qualified for NXN in 2020, but NXR didn’t happen, so that will be a good motivator for Franklin to do their best to finally qualify this year. They beat Lincoln last year and only graduated 2 of their top 7.
Kamiakin’s steak for qualifying for NXN will end. They return Teeples and Wilcott, but not much beyond that. They will need 3 more guys to step up in order to qualify again, but that is a very tall task.
Teeples should be able to qualify for NXN out of NW as an individual though

Actually, I’m not sure if they meant Dec 2021 or Dec 2022.
Good catch. I assumed next school year but it isn't a school event which makes next year 2022.

On the Northeast boys side, it should be a battle between Ridge (NJ), North Allegheny (PA), and Xavier (CT). CBA should not be counted out due to their ability to reload year after year although they lost 5 varsity seniors.

The tweet said that they are looking forward to bringing NXN back next year. I think that tweet disappeared.
I am increasing coming to believe that NXN will not be happening once again for 2021.

Someone please get in the organizer’s ear and tell them to do the races and just move the regional and national races to cities and states where you know you will be able to hold the events. Plan for it now.

WOO HOO! That's what I wanted to see: "TBD" has been replaced with actual dates for NXN and the regionals.
