US trials have gone! Big revisions, and the list gets cleaned up a bit.
BROMELL stays in the #1 spot, and validates his 9.84 basic from his earlier 9.77, with his 9.80 (0.8) ftw. Excellent sprint all-around from him.
BAKER moves from #5 to #2, now that he is healthier, with his 9.85 (0.8) PB in trials finals. He improves his basic SB by a huge 0.12, and looks to be improving into the Olympics.
Maybe the biggest basic news is KERLEY, who advances from 5th spot to a tie for 3rd at 9.90, with his massive 9.86 (0.8) PB in trials finals. He improved has basic best by a huge 0.11. He is 9.90...BASIC! It is nice to not have to rely on his max-wind Florida mark any longer, this bronze run was very well-executed IMO. The guy just keeps improving on the year.
BEDNAREK crushes back onto the list at a huge 9.93 in a massive PB 9.89 (0.8), just narrowly missing bronze but good for a relay spot. 9.93 BASIC and he will not be in the Olympic individual 100m, sucks!
Not to mention WILLIAMS who is now in the #7 spot at 9.95, with his also-massive 9.91 (0.8) PB.
OK this Eugene final...it looks like 5 guys set big basic PB's, and 4 were outright PB's, and Bromell tied his huge basic PB...that's 6 guys out of 8 who posted crazy results. Of the other 2 guys, Gatlin was injured and Lyles mailed it in.
I think that I will elevate Bracy's result next time, since it is looking like the times from that Florida race might be legit--or, at least, no worse than these new Eugene times. I'm sure there will be more revisions coming soon!
