Last Saturday I ran in Arizona at the unattached Nike Rotary session. Got 2:05.75 for my first 800 race since 2020. I'm just getting back into shape. My 3 mile PR is 17:15, 1600 PR is 5:11 and 400 PR is 57.5 (2 years ago). So I finished my XC season in early March. I was an 18 minute guy in the 3 mile courses. I lost most of my stamina and I'm weigh like 130 just bone and bit of muscle. My easy runs are like 4 miles at 7:30 pace. Cardio pace for me is 6:30 to 50s depending on how I feel but only for like 4 miles. How can I get better? What in the hell type of 800 runner am I???? 2 weeks ago I ran 6 200s at 89% effort going 26.01, 26.3, 26.9, 26.9, 27, and 27. My coach says I can run a 54 or 53 but I feel like I can only run a 55 but idk after running my 26.01 200 I felt like I could go another 200 meters without stopping. Then in my 800 race that I literally ran like 2 days a go I went 1:01.8ish then like 1:03.9ish or maybe 1:02 1:03 or 1:01 1:04.
