I agree, but it's possible they've never heard of it. I certainly hadn't until it was advertised on LR

Well you're pretty dumb. The whole idea is that it holds your mouth open in a way that you couldn't without it. Think before you type.
As to if it works, who knows. I glanced over one paper that showed respiratory rate dropped by around ~8% (dont know where the 20% claim arose from). But it only had 17 test subjects and i have no idea if there methodology was meaningful and accurate. I'm sure some pros will test it and if it actually works half as good as they say it does then it will catch like wildfire eventually.
