(not a debate-mods please dont delete). Not debating whether we should get the vaccine or not but it Seems like US authorities underestimating the number people who won't get vaccinated. Among my white healthy middle aged friends the number seems very high and it's high among my friend's friends as well. What you think?
Not a debate, but seems like US authorities underestimating % people who won't get vaccinated. What you think?

Yeah would estimate only 30% of my millennial aged friends are planning to get vaccinated. How about you?

That will change as soon as vaccination proof will be required for everything. -

Yeah that's true. New York state/NYC already has a special pass for the elders to go to movies, dining and shows. But states with the most obvious one to come to mind being Texas will never do such a thing. So what will the world be like? -
Texas already requires a number of vaccinations to attend public school - sorry bro.

We're talking about the covid vaccine here. -
The friends you know won't be representative of the US population as a whole.

Most states are already at 30-40% of the population receiving their first shot. And this is with most people still being ineligible to receive. I’m not sure what numbers the media is quoting but I see the numbers steamrolling to 70-75% by June and then slowing. But ultimaty, more than 80% of people get it. -

That's really interesting. Which do they require? -

The covid vaccine should not be required for children. Requiring MMR is much much different. You are really showing your arrogance or stupidity or both.

Just providing an observation. Israel is leading the world by a large margin in vaccination percentages. UK is in second.
Israel seems to be leveling off at just over 60% of the population vaccinated.
UK appears to be leveling off at under 50% vaccinated.
I am a bit surprised to see this. I was hoping that most advanced nations would have no trouble going over 70% and might hit 80%. Capping out at 50 - 60% isn't going to get the job done.

My gut tells me it was relatively easy for a nation to convince a general public to take a vaccine 30 years ago. But now that we've had something called the Internet around to most people for a good 20 years, it's going to be much much harder. The Internet (as opposed to tuning into a radio/TV station passively) allows society to take an active role in what information is received, not to mention the algorithms marketing companies have been geniuses with to tailor their messages to specific populations seeking out that very type of information/misinformation.
Compared to the 1980s and 1990s, due to Internet, many have very different ideas as to what is real and what isn't as the Internet has shaped their world view. It's why sometimes we can't agree on what we consider to be factual. -

Israel will plateau quickly now because pfizer and moderna just yanked all if their current shipments to Israel because Netenyahu isn't paying his vaccine bills. -
Not interested in the vaccine. As a baby boomer, I had the Chicken Pox, Mumps, Measles, etc., and I'm still here. Lol. The pharma-controlled MSM fearmongering machine has conditioned people to believe that no one has a healthy immune system anymore and if you don't take the vaccine you'll die of Covid or one of the variants.
Big Pharma is very good at manipulating the masses through control of the MSM, the CDC (captured agency) and our elected officials (Big Pharma is the biggest lobbyist in Congress outspending Big Oil & Gas by a 2-1 margin).
I bodybuild, still run a little, eat a healthy organic diet and take vitamin D3/get plenty of sunshine 💪-not interested in Big Pharma's Covid vaccine concoction. 😖 -
Sounds good.
The vaccinated population will return to normal while the fools remaining will either contract the virus or not be able to travel or get past the coming passport requirements.
In fact, that sounds perfect.
Chest thumping white guys marginalizing themselves even further -

Considering about 20% of the population is under the age of 16 and won’t likely have a vaccine available to them until late 2021 or 2022, your numbers are likely wrong. And if you are suggesting it’s 70-75% of the over 16 population by June, I’d say you’re still wrong. I’m guessing a track closer to the regular flu vaccine which is around 40-45%(for the entire population). -
I know my input won’t sway you but would like to note that vaccine development isn’t very profitable for companies. Neither is antibiotic development. Actually, there had to be a bill passed a couple years ago to encourage ‘big pharma’ to develop more antibiotics.
People throw ‘big pharma’ out for everything. There are a decent amount of things that don’t make much money. -

No doubt.
Probably a little less than 1/2 the people I talk to want nothing to do with the vaccines.
I am with them.
I know fear mongering propaganda when I see it.
I know that Big Pharma, the pols, the establishment in general does not care about the health and well being of us little people. They care about wealth and power and expanding their control over us. Why anyone believes them is beyond me. -
