I know you can get a free grad degree as a GA but would this apply to Law School?

No.
It would be depend on the school, some schools have specific programs that you can use the waiver for and some schools don’t. It will likely depend on the school and likely the law program... most GA positions want you to work 20 hours minimum and that would be tough as a law student... but if you only took a class or two that may work.
Many GA potions are also 2 years so that will be another issue but could possibly get some classes covered.
Most schools have a two year program in mind in the kinesiology dept. when they are looking for GAs. Even if this in not the case, and you just get a tuition waiver for any program I am not sure too many program directors would want to hire a law school student. A head coach typically wants a GA to do a fair amount of office work and travel and to "pay their dues". You are more likely to get a more dedicated individual if they are some one looking to begin a coaching career, rather than some who just views the position as a means to pay for a masters degree.
