Ok so this last track base i have been putting in the work running 70mpw and still currently am just fine and quite easily along with the workouts. Infact i feel i am not working hard enough because my hs program is not that strong.
About a week ago i prd the 1600m with a 4:24 mile and my end goal for the season is a 4:12 mile. My hs program only has me doing 1 workout a week which i know some of you will say is enough but i just don't feel im working hard enough.
Typical 1 workout a week looks like
6 miles @ 5:35
or 12x400m at tempo starting to faster than mile.
I notice i do not pr on the week on these workouts but pr on the weeks when i bust my butt on some intervals on a grass field by myself.
If i did 2 workouts a week and 1 workout the next week is that alright and will i over train since my body is more adapted due to higher mileage?
