Did this study consider deaths due to direct abortion in the USA? I doubt it. In recent years, direct abortion killed about 700,000 unborn human beings annually in the US, down from highs decades ago of about 1,500,000. That's quite a reduction.

Harambe, what is your agenda? You post a huge amount of Covid information that looks to me to be either spurious statistics or disingenuous corporate policy.
And when I point out the error in your assumption of a future fall in death rates, you suddenly go quiet.
I still don’t personally know a single person who contracted Covid much less died from it.
But I have witnessed my kids missing out on huge milestones of young life ... including my oldest missing out the final 3 seasons of her college track and field experience.
And my sister struggling to make ends meet after her hours were cut in half.
People dying of COVID are overwhelmingly:
Elderly
Minorities - Hispanics, Blacks, Natives
In poor health/chronically ill including morbid obesity - my uncle, long-standing type I diabetic and disabled got it and died
Some combination of the above
If you don’t run in these circles (most here probably don’t) you may not know anyone who died of it.
Btw I’ve worked in a COVId ICU since last year. I can arrange for you to get a tour since you seem so dubious. Feel free to tell the families of the dying patients that you don’t think COvID isn’t real
"Data for North Carolina not included due to delays in reporting."
Yet another embarassment brought about by the conservative takeover in NC.
Deplorable, science-denying cretins.

Right.
The same people pushing the Covid epidemic put out made up numbers to "prove" it and you buy it sans question.

Same here.
14 months into this deadly pandemic and I still know nobody who has had Covid.

I know double digit people that have died from it and tons more that have had it.
In all seriousness Unkle, I would be curious to know if you have many friends? And / or live in a rural area?
Your posting style would indicate that one or the above is true. And your experience with Covid as well.

Where did you point out an error?
The fact of that matter is, people on the board said when the year was over, the fullness of the numbers would reveal that the excess death number would be relatively small because the only people that died were almost dead anyway.
Now, we have a period that ended showing +503k deaths over the previous year. Even given baby boomers dying, if it really were a zero sum game, we should have lower than expected deaths to make up for those 500k.
If we don’t , please accept that Covid is real.
Some interesting things in here:
When the pandemic first took hold, there were fears lockdowns and economic disruption might trigger a surge in suicides. Instead, as a paper in the same journal the day before notes, 2020 had 5.6 percent fewer suicides than 2019.
I wasn't following suicide statistics and didn't question the "Covid skeptic" narrative that suicides were up , but it appears that it was BS like the rest of it.
Cancer deaths were almost unchanged, but most other leading causes of death were up by 5-10 percent on past years. It's not clear how many deaths attributed to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and Alzheimer's had COVID-19 as an exacerbating factor.
This largely contradicts the "death with Covid" skeptic narrative, but that was obviously nonsense from multiple lines of preliminary data.
Thanks to the original poster for bringing this paper to my attention.

Bullspit.
I have talked to dozens of people about this and most know nobody who had had it and some know a few who have had it. One knew a guy who died from it.
You are lying.
Why?
Yes, it was a huge spike from what would be expected due to population growth.
Sadly, 40% of the deaths --at least until the vaccine was rolled out -- were among the 0.6% of the U.S. population in nursing homes/assisted living facilities. (This group was also the easiest to find and vaccinate.)
My hunch is a large portion of the other deaths were from elderly people not in group living situations and this group is the hardest to get vaccinated. I have several co-workers who have been trying to get their elderly parents vaccinated for months and have only recently found success.

Yeah alot of people born this year too, its the natural circle of life.
Births were essentially flat. Deaths were markedly increased. So no, NOT "the natural circle of life" at all. Nice try.

That's because you are full spectrum troll, likely still living in parents basement at age 53.
I know a dozen or two who have had it, none died. One (in his mid-60s) nearly died. Several are dealing with long term health consequences, i.e., they can't run after many months due to breathing and heart problems. These are competitive runners aging from late 20s to 60s, who were in good shape when they got it.
nonono the pandemic is obviously fake and you're all just stupid. lol

Don't overthink it. TU is just a troll. Who then will get all huffy about being identified as such, and talk about "calling names."
As a troll, TU will be impervious to any "data" or "reasoning" or "facts" that you bring to bear, because all he's after is responses. Best approach: Ignore all his posts, or at least don't respond. Starve a troll today.

Abortions don't count because they are not humans. Nice try.

A-f*ckin-men. Although I wouldn't credit it as a 'nice try' - more like a delusional non-sequitur.
No they didn’t. 2020 never happened.
