course was long - during race, course was changed just past 7 mile mark for security reasons. Last minute reroute through the city, course was anyones guess as to distance - 10.7-11.4 is what I heard. No mat at finish - no official times. Lots of upset people during the extra mile but on otherhand who knows what the security issue was and what could have happened - an extra mile is nothing compared to a whatever was potentially averted.
There was a bomb threat on one of the bridges on the course.
Well, it was an interesting race. I was in the 25 - 30th place range at 7 miles and I never saw an 8 or 9 mile mark.... Then at 54 minutes I knew there was something up because I should have been done. Then at about 62 minutes I saw a makeshift finish line and kicked through it.
There was no chip pad or anything so i assumed they would take our numbers for scoring and placing... but they didn't. I later found out that there wouls be no results of awards.
Well, in the end, at least everyone was safe and I personally still enjoyed myself.

any idea how long the course was? Seeing all those folks out there running who were missing legs makes us realize how having the course rerouted is so minor in the big picture.
GPS got it at 11.3
thanks
my wife ran 1:16 so I guess she met her goal of breaking 70 minutes.
Ohh yeah, she tore it up!
Nice congrats to her.
A substantially longer course and still beating her goal time is very impressive. That's what running's all about - setting personal goals and realizing them...by a lot!
