Anyone get an early look at the new ASICS shoes? Their shoes generally fit my feet really well, so curious in people’s take.

I looked at a couple of podcasts last night - Kofuzi and I think Seth James Demoor had them posted. The takeaway for me was that ASICS is releasing 2 new racing shoes and one of them has similar stack height/cushioning/energy return to the Alphafly and Vaporfly. I've tried on the Nike super shoes and didn't like the goofy lacing and fit, at least standing in the running shoe store. I would be inclined to either buy these ASICS or the Adidas shoes if they were every actually available. These shoes seemed to have a bit more hard rubber so they might last more than a single marathon race
Thanks for the tip about the podcasts Napierville! We’ll see if my local running shop gets them when they release, love to try on.
Finally remembered to go check RTR again, they’ve got their usual great write up:

I thought these were listed at $150? Today they seem to have gone up to $250. Anyone else notice this??
the magic speed is $150
The Believe in the Run review of the Meta Speed Sky covered Asics 3 new shoes. The Magic Speed is $150 or there abouts, but does not have a full length carbon plate. I am not sure if it uses the same midsole material.
Shoessss beat me to the punch, so to speak. The Magic Speed does have a carbon plate, but only in the forefoot.
Thanks for the clarification. I’m assuming the magic speed would be similar to the Nike zoom fly and the metaspeed similar to vaporfly next percent.
Have just bought a pair (some 250+ in the USD equivalent), but did not try on the road, yet. Too muddy and too much water around my place because of melting snow. Better wait for a few days.
But on the treadmill at the sport store they fit perfect and running under 4 min/km was comfortable (well, for my 63 it's a race speed, helas).
Will write later after I try them outdoors.

Also, the Magic speed uses a Flight Foam midsole while the other two "super shoes" use Flight Foam Turbo midsokes.
Just pre-ordered a pair from running warehouse. Excited!

I'm in a similar position. The VFN%s are really narrow and unstable. Fast? Yes, but the stitching tears into your achilles and pronation is off the charts. It would be good if there were true competition. The Vaporfly rivals, except for Skechers (Speed Elite) are putting too much weight in the heel counter.
The shoe is lighter the the VF next percent 2. Has a stiffer plate. It's the only true rival to the VF in my opinion. The adidas adios pro is obviously a great shoe, however, it is quite a lot heavier

Very exciting! When do they arrive? Ive seen dates like April 20th at the ASICS site, seems like a long time for a shoe released on the first. I haven’t pulled the trigger, my fitness doesn’t really warrant the help, but I’ve got an itch nonetheless. 😅
Looking forward to seeing how they work for you!
My size isn't until May 22 it looks like. Oh well. Hopefully it is worth the wait.
I tried them yesterday. Difficult to give precise quantitative estimates, but my feeling is that they are a little bit faster than Peg's Turbo 2 that I used before (and will keep use, too). Somewhat 2 sec per km bonus
Also my opinion is quite individual because, being at M63 age group, I tried them at a very low speed and not at long runs (just 5x1K interval slightly above LT at about 3.45-3.48 speed).
So, absolutely no regret.

Oof, that’s quite a wait on an April 1 release. After researching, to the extent possible now, I’ve been thinking I should wait for the Edge to come out, likely a better fit for me. Maybe it will be available for a Fall HM :-P.
Orient, that sounds promising, it’ll be cool to see what you can do in a race.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
