Forgot to congratulate Mrs. Stone on the massive PR!
@pewow I'm following a Jack Daniels plan that prescribes back-to-back workouts. His reasoning is that back-to-backs dissuade runners from overdoing the 1st workout. It has made me a bit more conservative with workout paces, and so far my body has been able to handle both workouts.
Good luck to any folks racing this weekend. The only person I know of is Tyler but hoping to see some more results on Sunday!

Congrats to darkwave on a strong, consistent performance today. I think she’ll agree it is a definite step in the right direction for her, I’m hoping for the same in 7 weeks.

Haven't seen a result posted here? The suspense, it's killing me! ;)

I think that breaks some unspoken rule. Tyler also killed it. Good weekend it seems.
cool, I'll wait.

Yeah, I keep a personal rule of never revealing another runner’s actual time result without his/her permission. I wouldn’t want to steal his/her thunder. But I see no harm in acknowledging that I saw the result, and it is one worth congratulating. I saw Tyler’s also. Really strong running.

Heh - it's awesome that you guys care - much appreciated.
I ran 87:52. -Splits were
6:52/6:40/6:28/6:41/
6:40/6:39/6:42/6:41/
6:45/6:51/6:48/6:46 and then
7:22 for the last 1.11 (6:38 pace)
It was a good course and a good weather day. I'm not happy with how I faded in the last 4 miles -that was an all out fight on legs that just had nothing left, but I'm still pretty happy. As Stone noted, a big step in the right direction.
I'll talk more about it when I get a chance, but the race staging ended up being kind of odd, with 5 runners starting every 4 seconds (I don't blame the race - they did what they had to do to hold it). I ended up starting back in the race - it's the first time I've started behind the 2 hour half-marathoners and the 5 hour marathoners. Which was not an issue from a traffic perspective - the road was wide and the groups were small. But just different. I never had anyone to run with - just rolling up slower runners from behind and then soloing it - everyone my pace or faster started ahead of me I guess.
I'm going to try to check in tomorrow for weeklies - just a busy weekend with a race, then finally visiting my vaccinated parents, and then getting my second Moderna shot tomorrow.
Congrats! I just saw it up on Strava. Definitely a bunch of steps in the right direction!!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
