Now that the carnage of the last 1K is over and we have all come home from the rolling hills of Stillwater, I think it's time to recognize the true winners of the delayed 2020 cross country season: coaches who dress well.
Exhibit A: Mike Smith
Successfully brought back the ballcap
Not afraid to wear Lululemon
Often found calmly cheering on his lumberjacks in Buffalo Park while wearing a hoodie and joggers
Led his team to titles in 2017, 2018, and 2021
Exhibit B: Dijeet Taylor
Ambitiously rocks heels and a gucci belt at NCAA indoors just days before XC championship
Also found wearing large hoop earrings to a track meet
Sunglasses on a cloudy day because she knows that style > function
Major Takeaways:
The bar has been raised, who will respond? Will ADs begin budgeting for XC coach wardrobes having seen the proven correlation between swag and national championships? Who will step up to the plate and revamp their wardrobe to move up the rankings? Is Mark Wetmore considering doing away with the pony tail after his mens team's dismal 14th place showing?
So many questions, so little answers...
