I don't think its that anecdotal bud. Look up stats on the number of female vs male head coaches int he sport. Do you really think that women are less capable of coaching?
women are still much more likely to focus on being a mother than spending evenings and weekends at the track.
it is often low paying stuff that people get into as a nerding out obsessive hobby. Also the type of thing that men are more likely to gravitate towards compared to women.
