Some background: I'm old (46) slow (7:30 per mile), new to running (1 year) and have been doing between 25 -35 miles per week for about 6 months. I've run 8 races this year (mostly 10k but some 5k, and one 10 mile) I'm running in the Army 10 miler this Sunday.
I ran 13 miles last Sunday and 4 on Monday. Haven't run since Tuesday morning cause of shin pain. Rest seems to have helped and the shin feels fine now.
I'm too new at this to know but will I lose everything in just a week? Should I expect to go a lot slower or will 5 days off not have any real effect?
