In one of my college meets, I saw a couple of guys in basketball shorts run a 3k steeplechase together. They clearly had no racing experience, never mind hurdling. There was one slow guy and one really slow guy, and the faster guy was just jogging in lane 2 while the slower guy huffed and puffed. Eventually, the slower guy couldn't get over the hurdles, so he sort of climbed over them. They both pretty much swam through the water pit.
The best part was that right after the final hurdle, the slower guy starts booking it to the finish line. His teammate tried to respond, but he was caught off guard, and didn't catch him. So the slower guy "won", although I'm pretty sure they were both DQ'd. They finished in around 15 minutes, so not too bad given the circumstances...Their school was mostly terrible, but I still never figured out how these guys got on the team, never mind into one of the most demanding events on the track...
