Yeah, McArthur has been disappointing given what she did at Nova and deciding to step up to transfer to CU. Maybe not the right kind of program for her. She's been a good training partner for Hurta, I guess. Seems more like the second coming of Jackie Zeigle. Buffs men and women finishing off the podium is an off year for the program. And the women outperformed the men! 1-3 moved up in the last K while 4 & 5 dropped several places. Just an overall weird year when you look at rankings versus finish in the results, yet you'd think a program that puts more focus on cc than on indoors like CU shouldn't slip this much. Probably just a case of top CO talent getting pulled away to other schools and maybe the usual spate of injuries on top of lost time for COVID protocols.

Great watch and Mantz did look questionable after 2000m when he fell off, but that was just a waiting game for the hot air to finish escaping. Everybody but Mantz and Wildschutt looked pretty damn heavy in the legs the last 2-3km. I don't doubt that the running surface is "faster than it used to be" but clearly the long hills are the real deal.

Props to ND, SUU and UState. Butler and Ok had a great showing as well. Nico proved he's the real deal, but I'd see him around 15-20th if this was a normal fall race with everyone in it. Sprout was really impressive and the combo with Hicks will be a strong future.

Collapse by BYU, CU, UW, Wisco, NC STate and the Gonzaga Bulldogs who took it out way too hard.

What potential top 10 guys were missing besides Teare and Hocker?

I'm not reading the whole thread but my first reaction is "raise you hand if you ever heard off Adriaan Wildschutt"

What post top 10 non-top team had the best performance performance? I think Duke coming in 16th was very surprising given many had them as the worst team to make it.

On the other end I think everyone expected Cuse to be a top 15 team ending up in DFL. Ironic considering Cuse is the reason Duke made it to begin with.

Do some of you not even follow the sport? I think you get all of your information from this site. He ran 13:30 indoor. That is faster than 99% of they guys in this race have ever run.
