What are the odds Hocker makes an Olympic team but Teare doesn't? Teare didn't seem to have that extra gear Hocker used to outkick him, or maybe he was just caught off guard by Hocker passing him right at the end when he expected an easy cruise to the finish.
Both will make 1500. They will finish 1-2 hand-in-hand at the trials.

Right now, you'd obviously have to take Hocker, at least under 5000. Teare also lost to Grijalva in the 5000 in December.

Guatemala for citizenship purposes though, right?

Would cover Gabe's travel from China to have him lead the percussion section over in the (bastardized) east grandstand.

Yes. I worded that poorly -- I just meant that Teare really isn't even the clear-cut best collegiate at 5000, let alone someone that can compete with the likes of Fisher, McGorty, Bor, Chelimo, etc. at USAs. He has a much better shot in the 1500, but I think Hocker has the clear edge right now in the shorter stuff.
I think the 3k just showed that Teare is more of a 5k guy, he went too late and paid the price. Hocker is def a 1500 guy tho

Hopefully as the top non-Czech, non-Russian athlete.
I think Nicola Sanders of Great Britain, at 50.02, is the clean indoor WR holder.

Looking at the finals start lists and then scoring them based on the remaining seeds, it looks like Arkansas could get up to 43 points while Texas A&M could get 31 points on Saturday afternoon. Combine with the scores thru 8 events, Texas A&M could win by 4 points (57 to 53). Hopefully I did the math right (10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 scoring)
Arkansas Saturday potential scoring:
- 60: 3rd
- 400: 6th, 8th
- mile: 2nd, 7th
- hurdles: 6th
- 800: 6th
- 3k: 3rd, 6th
- 4x4: 2nd
Texas A&M Saturday potential scoring:
- 400: 1st, 3rd
- TJ: 4th
- 4x4: 1st
Women's triple jump is underway, and the Texas A&M triple jumper - Deborah Acquah - tied the meet record on her second attempt, 14.27m. The top seed in the competition - Texas Tech's Ruth Usuro - has gone farther this season (14.38m). If Acquah holds on for the win, that will give the Aggies some more cushion against Arkansas.
W Mile is off. Sage Hurta from. N.Y., now Colorado, won H.S. X-C State titles as a 7th grader & then came back to take the title again in 11th & 12th grade.
4:35 pace at 800. Ark. with 3 in Top 5 with 400 to go.
A&M has it easy. Arkansas with no chance. Will not even get much in this mile
Arkansas just got 14 - second from Gear and third from Thompson
Hurta with the comfortable win, 4:30.
Impressive run by Thomson. Figured Thomson and Hyde would go 9, 10 for nothing.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
