I agree with Phil. And BTW he is not Lewandowski's Uncle. That was fake news perpetuated by Gjert.

Nah dude. That polish guy tried to cut in when there was no space between Jakob and the guy ahead of him. There was no room for that athlete to cut in. Period. You could make a case that both should be DQ'd as Jakob didn't cause that scenario. Jakob was put into that situation by that athlete and had no choice but to jostle him. The only other option was for Jakob to let the guy collide into him or clip his heels and hope no one falls. That's not a situation you want to allow to happen with no room there. Jakob is tall for a distance runner of his caliber but not as imposing as Mottram was apparently and even he had moments like these.
Wait - are you more upset at the Instagram post or that the competition committee made the correct decision by not disqualifying him?
I mean would it be my style to sh$t-talk guys on Instagram with stupid posts like that? No, I think that's a bit insufferable but that's just me - it's his right I guess.
Back to the non-DQ/overturned DQ, if there is any legit case for disqualifying a guy 40m into a 1500m race for an awkward lunging, sidestep that hindered his chances if anything rather than improved them, I think this message board would love to hear it. He has a right to stay on his feet - since when was that right compromised by any rule?
I'm happy that in Poland, when it would have been beneficial to Polish runners, the right call was made. I don't care that Pappa Ingebritsen threatened to fly his kid home if it stood - great, it ensured that the common sense decision was ultimately made. Case closed.
OP sounds like a little baby. You seriously can’t take a little trash talk? If they don’t like it then do something about it and beat him.
Hahahaha I watched the video and Jakob makes an ABSURD attempt to pass on the inside when there is NO SPACE AT ALL.
Does he expect the other runners to just go out to lane 2 and make a little Jakob-path for him.
Hahahahahahahahaha. How was this not a DQ?
You write like a child. It's been a long time since I've seen a post so full of speculation and conjecture

Good point, he was absolutely gunning for that crucial position of 5th place boxed on the rail 140m into the race (I'll correct myself as I said 40m in another post). Clearly a difference making move there.....
Jakob made a dumb move trying to pass on the inside, but it is not worthy of a DQ. And the subsequent off-balanced foot on the infield isn't a DQ either. Neither had an impact on the result of the race or caused an advantage. A DQ should be pretty cut and dry not something that gets applied/reinstated/applied or worthy of a debate on letsrun. It should be pretty obvious to anyone watching.
And I don't think his antics right off the line are worthy of a DQ either, but they are worthy of getting spiked and an elbow to the chest.
Was it always common in championships for people to be disqualified and then re-instated?

I'd like to see Jakob disqualified as much as the next guy, but I agree with this. He didn't cause trouble for anyone, and he didn't gain any advantage, so, sadly, he should win.
As I said before, God should disqualify him for poor sportsmanship for threatening to quit the meet when he wasn't crowned the winner.
Please stop calling him Ramzys.
Let's get this straight. Two Polish runners in the final. The medal hope, Lewandowski, goes to the lead. The second guy, Romzys, with no chance at a medal, cuts Jakob off at the first turn and forces him off the track. Jakob goes on to win, is dq'd, and then reinstated correctly. After complaining that the Ingebrigtsens had threatened to quit the 3k if Jakob were not reinstated, the Polish runners then BOTH make excuses for dropping out of the 3k.

Exactly, cause we know he's really Ramzys IV.
This post makes my head want to explode.
1) You'd "like to see Jakob disqualified as much as the next guy" - why and who wants to see him disqualified? Because he's the best athlete in the field? Huh?
2) God should disqualify him for poor sportsmanship? I mean, you don't think "God" has more important sh$t to do than worry about "poor sportsmanship" shown in the European indoor 1500m championship race of 2021?
3) This notion that he was trying to push his way through and his "antics off the line" were in some way unethical - you have got to be kidding me. This isn't a lap around the parking lot at Sunday School my friend - you have 10 guys wanting the same spot on the track and in this race in particular they all rolled right over the top of him to get it. He is allowed to defend his space and stay on his feet. You guys have zero clue.
