Jeremy Lin was called the “coronavirus” in an NBA G League game. When was the last time we heard about some white dude calling someone the n word in an NBA game?
Makes you think. Where’s the Asian Lives Matter protests?

Why are no black or white NBA players wearing shirts showing outrage over these racist attacks.
Black racism is a topic that is taboo.
It's allowed because there has been no systemic racism against Asians in this country.

Yes. All those Asian people being murdered by the cops.

Well, not counting the Chinese Exclusion Act, the internment of Japanese Americans in concentration camps, the discriminatory enrollment policies at the Ivy league Schools,
Lol. Asians keep their head down and are productive to society. Sucks that most ignore the racism we face.

Oh, so there is systemic racism against Asians too.

Buddy, you need to brush up on your American history.
Remember, it’s not racist if a black person says or does something untoward.

One comment, by one player in a G League game, is supposed to trigger protests? I don't understand why there is even an article about it.

It says much that a knowledgeable person as coach had no idea of the bias toward Asians.
My daughter is Asian and was labeled as the 'Corona Girl' in H.S. last year. Needless to say, she's loving virtual learning from home and most likely won't return.
Whoever called him that is a jackass.
Jeremy Lin will be okay.

this is terrible in high school or with any kids. with grown men playing a game for living? it's trash talk. it blows my mind how sensitive some people are.
it definitely pays to be a victim in the 21st.

No, its the systemic attacks on elder Asians in a number of cities. And the minimizing of racism toward from individuals such as yourself.
In the contexts of attacks on Asians open racial taunts in the NBA are nothing to ignore.

Just imagine what would happen if a white dude called a black guy the n word in a G league game.

Agreed on both accounts. Not much else to say unless you are a person who wants to analogize and pointlessly argue over victimhood rankings.

You are dead wrong. Charles Barkley came to Luca's defense when he was the target of on court racism.
Another black announcer tried to dismiss it with your rational that its just sports trash talk
Barkley shot the guy down. He said he has done much trashing talking but never would he ever use someone race as content for trash talking. Barkley said it was just wrong.

I assume there is a lot of trash talking on the floor; the insult popped into the guy's brain, he thought it was clever and he said it. The player represents only himself and he seems to be an idiot anyway.
It's not a story. If it happened frequently from multiple players, then it should be, but not just because of a one-off incident.

Sorry you didnt get the sarcasm of my previous posts. I initially stated what is in vogue - systemic racism is only against black and brown people. Then I pretended to naively discover that racism against Asians in fact exists.
I have a bad habit of being flippant on this message board. Apologies to manzanar and you and I will attempt to be more serious when discussing this subject which is painful and unfortunately dismissed by so many
