I predict Carney will whomp on all, including Space Ghost and MBrak.

If MBrack is beat I will not be by Carney. I do see Carney in the top 4 though.
MBrak
Baker
Driscoll
Carney
what about the women's race? Is Joan gonna rock the race?
I also think Carney will win. Thank you.

1. Carney
2. Baker
3. Hussein
4. Cordes
5. Rosario
1. Boaz
2. Aish
3. Derego
4. Samuelson
5. Daniel
You think Joan will be in Top 5? She is 48 years old. Her last marathon was 2 years ago in 2:53, before that 2:42 at Chicago 3 years ago. It's been several years of injuries and getting older for her. Also, Boaz just ran a 2:36 in Helsinki in August. She may still be tired.
Boaz has one gear all the time. She has run so many that she recovers differently than most of us.
Samuelson. OK maybe I am going out on a limb a little bit with this one. I figured that if she just wanted to be part of the show that she would go to Chicago or New York and make it a vacation. I thought (or maybe hoped) that her enty in Twin Cities meant that she is ready to race.
What is it that makes you think Carney will fair better than the guys that have ran a couple marathons and longer races?
Nothing against him, but has he ever ran a marathon before?
#1 Mbrak
#2 Pilja
#3 Baker
#4 Driscol
#5 Rosario
#6 Carney
By all means, I think Joan will give it a go to run her best. That is what she is made of. I am just thinking her age and the injuries and miles on her body may have relegated her to "act her age" and there are a bunch of talented younger gals that will go out pretty fast. Boaz is amazingly consistent. Maybe you are right.
What makes me think that he will beat these guys (sans possibly Hussein)? Simple, he's f'ing better than them. It's that simple.

Hussein and it won't even be close. He ran 2:08 in the spring, and ran 1:03:23 at the Philly Half two weeks ago. He'll need to step in a pothole to lose...
Nicole Aish is doing twin cities? This should be good.
Cordes will beat his ass because he watched what Brian Sell did to Hussein in Grand Rapids. Cordes now has a more sensible training direction. Cordes will win in 2:11:49.
Leigh Daniel will be in the top 3 as well 2:36-2:37.
Go ex hansons. Show them all what they lost.
Who is coaching her? I hope with the lack of success that Michael has shown in the marathon, that she is being coached by someone better than he has been.
go Nic. Beat his kenyan (yeah kenyan) butt like a drum.
sorry, i'm afraid all three of my good buddies will top mr. cordes, no disrespect to him.
1st mbarak
2nd pilja or carney
3rd pilja or carney (pick em')
both of them with mbarak through 35k.
dude-
ps, good luck mark, even though you won't need it with your prep :)
I totally agree.
Philadelphia half marathon is correct - but where exactly do you think that he ran 2:08 in the Spring, 2005?
It didn't happen?
2:08:10 in Seoul, April 2004 - that's a long time ago.
James "Bottle Sitter" Carney will walk away with it at 14 miles. He's runnin down a dream.
