In the last two weeks:
Part-time runner Hobbs Kessler opened his indoor season with a faster mile -- indoors or out -- than any HSer in history not named Jim Ryun or Alan Webb
A guy with a steeple PR slower than Evan Jager's ran a 3k time that only Daniel Komen and Hicham EG have bested
The third best female 1500m runner in the the world in 2019 broke the WR at that distance by two seconds
A couple of white-guy collegiates ran close to two seconds faster for a mile than King Ches -- in the same race
Elle Purrier ran more than eight seconds faster than Jenny Simpson for two miles
If superspikes are here to stay, then we should start talking about track times the same way we've been talking about road times over the past few years. I do think it's a shame but not arguing for any remedy apart from taking post-2020 times with a grain of salt.
