Drew hunter was gunning for a 3:32 and ran out of gas. He could've went for 3:35.xx and achieved that goal, but he stuck his nose in the race. Lessons learned.
BS. He was nowhere near the front at any point in the race.
Engels wouldn't make it.

Ran 800 at 3:36 pace before he started to struggle...
He wouldn't make the final at NCAA indoors if he made the meet.
Any word on why Sydney dropped out of the 500? More interested in that then seeing her in the 60 hurdles
Hunter and Engels both listed as PRs in the official results. Lackluster races but for them its still an improvement by at least one metric.
1 AUS Oliver Hoare 3:32.35 NR
2 GBR Jake Wightman 3:34.48 PB
3 NZL Sam Tanner 3:34.72 NR
4 USA Sam Prakel 3:36.36 PB
5 USA Craig Engels 3:36.49 PB
6 USA John Gregorek 3:37.22 PB
7 NZL Nick Willis 3:37.53
8 GER Amos Bartelsmeyer 3:38.16 PB
9 USA Drew Hunter 3:40.37 PB
10 USA Garrett O'Toole 3:45.43 PB
11 GBR Thomas Keen 3:46.40

Still historic. I believe Swangard claimed it was a Kiwi National record.
That's obscure. Does NZ even have an indoor track? More impressive that he just ran the fastest in-season 1500 in NCAA history indoors or out and he's only a sophomore
The record was previously held by Nick Willis, maybe you’ve heard of him.
Nobody bashing on Engels but flaming Hunter.

Obscure? It's clear and plain as day. He is now his countries record holder. So "historic" or not???
disappointed that engels couldnt stay up front, but not surprised. was interested to see how hunter would perform and i think he would be the first to admit that was a huge disappointment. its pretty obvious at this point that they seem more concerned with their social outreach than their results. to be fair the idea of the team was to become competitive. they arent there yet.

Yess. I want to know how his singing bowl helped his mentality for this race. I’d enjoy that as much as I enjoyed watching Joey Cheese talk about race prep. Please tell me how you mentally get ready for DFL.
Aww don't be mean to Joey Cheese. He's just a guy working hard and trying to improve. He doesn't have some huge ego that needs to be checked. Support Joey Cheese!
Too bad no fans allowed as Rai would have had the 'homecourt advantage' and maybe enough to help him beat Norman.
Did I hear Ato Boldon say "testicular fortitude?"

Knight told us post race he doesn't have super shoes.
John Kellogg converts it to 7:37.04 for 3k and 13:11.13 for 5k.
How is it possible for Kellogg to convert times down to 1/100 of a second?
Hunter has to blow this training group up. If not for himself, than for the sport. He's too talented to train with 4:01 milers and with a coach that has him running fartleks at 8k pace. He's becoming a 4:01 miler.

You're right. My maths were wrong. He went 57.74, 57.61, 58.86, 46.17, so a pretty big fade considering the field ran away from him.
