MULTIPLE WR ALERT
M400 - Norman will run 44.31 for a new WR
M200 - Lyles will run 19.89 for a new WR
M2M - Hagos G. will cruise past Jenkins, Klecker, McDonald, Knight with 250 left, 7:32high
W1500 - Hiltz and I like Efraimson to bounce back here, lets say 4:07-8ish if they have good pacing
W60H - Keni is the smart choice, interesting to see what Sydney can run after 6 years
W800 - Goule, Brown, Gorriaran to run 2:01 high if field strings out properly
M60 - Bromell sub 6.50 to win narrowly over Baker
M1000 - Hoppel over Grice in 2:15high
M1500 - Wightman ftw 3:33
W2M - Purrier 9:29
W400 - Shaunae sub50
M800 - Brazier 1:43? or 1:44 supercontrolled
Will there be a way to watch races not shown in the TV broadcast (mens 2 mile and women’s 1500m)? Will it be on NBCsports Gold if you have the track and field pass?
Men’s two miles in nine hours from now, if I have the zones right?
no sorry ASM, its still Friday in America. one more day
Props to New Balance for putting up the money for this as this thing is turning into a Pre Classic of indoors. And there are a lot of non New Balance runners.
It is absolutely LOADED.
Can't believe how good the sprint fields are.
If you look at the entry lists Sydney has pulled out of the 500 and is only entered in the Hurdles. The 500 field was real weak to start and this should have been a walk over for her, but still would have been nice to see what she could do.

Don't be surprised if Sydney's goes sub-7.8.

Would be quick.
I imagine NBC will show the "highlights" within their brutal coverage. Nothing sucks the life out of an interesting meet like NBC.
Posted these predictions more or less on another thread, but have amended them since Quigley scratched and Gebrhiwet was added. The action kicks off in 4 hours, for our international travelers.
W800
1. Natoya Goule 1:59.8
2. Ce’Aira Brown 2:00.1
3. Lindsey Butterworth 2:01.7
Confident front-running from Goule (58-flat, 1:28.5) with Brown sticking to her till the final strides. Altogether 7 women run under 2:03, including the 15 year old Sophia Gorriaran.
M800
1. Donavan Brazier 1:44.30 WL
2. Erik Sowinski 1:45.9
3. Jamie Webb 1:46.3
Brazier makes a controlled effort from the front and powers away on the last lap, dipping at the line to finish in the narrow gap between his own AR and Hoppel’s world lead. Sowinski is the only man to go with him for even 600m and is rewarded with 2nd place and another sub-1:46.
M1000
1. Bryce Hoppel 2:15.7 NR
2. Charlie Grice 2:16.3 NR
3. Marco Arop 2:16.7 NR
Arop and the pacer go out hard (52-high) and by 600m these 3 men have gapped the field. Hoppel gets pole position before the bell (1:48 flat) and is pressured but never seriously challenged on the final circuit, as Arop begins to wobble in the final 100 and Grice sneaks through for 2nd. All 3 set national indoor records for their respective countries.
W1500
1. Nikki Hiltz 4:03.9
3. Cory McGee 4:04.3
4. Heather MacLean 4:04.9
After a relatively modest opening K (2:45) McGee moves to the lead and starts increasing the tempo every 100m. She opens up a gap of 5m with 200m to go, but Hiltz slowly reels her in over the last lap and passes with 25m left.
M1500
1. Jake Wightman 3:35.1
2. Craig Engels 3:35.8
3. Oliver Hoare 3:36.1
A tight pack of 8-10 men pass through 800 in 1:56-1:58, and then the noble Drew Hunter takes up the pacing duties. Wightman makes his move with 300 to go and splits a nifty 26.5 for the last 200.
W2mi.
1. Elinor Purrier 9:24
2. Emma Coburn 9:26
3. Dani Jones 9:28
Jones and Coburn (mostly Coburn) take turns keeping the tempo honest after the pacer drops, while Purrier shadows those suckers like a shadow follows a sucker, depending on the sunlight. With 250 to go Purrier drops the hammer, though Coburn maintains contact until 80m to go when she has to raise the white flag.
M2mi.
1. Hagos Gebrhiwet 8:17.3
2. Eric Jenkins 8:17.8
3. Justyn Knight 8:19
4. Morgan McDonald 8:19
5. Joe Klecker 8:20
Gebrhiwet uses a Yifterlike shift with 300m to go to get the jump on the field, but Jenkins tails him surprisingly close to the finish once the race is really on. Behind them, Knight and McDonald outkick Klecker, but everyone buys Joe a beer afterward for taking up the pacing after the rabbits dropped. Hagos gets too drunk (you know Hagos ?) and makes a pass at the waitress, eventually passing out in Geordie Beamish’s hotel bathroom.
Hunter is winning.

More likely:
1. Jake Wightman 3:35.1
2. Craig Engels 3:35.8
3. Oliver Hoare 3:36.1
4. John Gregorek 3:36.4
5. Sam Tanner 3:36.9
6. Drew Hunter 3:37.1
7. Amos Bartelsmeyer 3:39.0
8. Nick Willis 3:39.5
Hunter 3:34
Hoare 3:35
Engels 3:36
Gregorek 3:36
Tanner 3:36
Willis 3:37
Being honest, I'm not all *that* impressed. Should be a nice meet but I think you're overselling it.
What time is the 2 mile starting?

I do not expect much from Sydney now that she has joined Felix' coach. He is not a good coach and her performance will plateau at where she was at the end of 2019.

I know this strategy has been discussed before, but it bears repeating. You are 100% correct - the coverage is brutal. I, like many others, will record the meet and watch it later. I blast through all commercials, interviews, and events I’m not interested in. I turn off the volume and watch what I enjoy. Done in about 20 minutes, and I don’t have to listen to any inane cackling. On with the rest of my evening.

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
