Capped at 100 elites and maybe a last chance to get an Olympic berth. Do you think any of the top 20 men and women at the classic distance may enter?

I don't think so. A lot of athletes announced their participation via social media already, basically all 2nd/3rd tier and mostly hoping to break the olympic standard.

Just the four on their website: Björn Koreman of the Netherlands. Marius Ionescu of Romania, Roy Hoornweg, and Precious Mashele?

Getting interesting now. Kipchoge just needs someone to compete with.
Lawrence Cherono seems the obvious one to me: current World Champ v current Olympic Champ. Both have had success in majors the last few years but seem to dodge each other.

Usually it’s Cherono v Desisa and Kipchoge v three Ethiopians. Change it up.
Do Ethiopia get 3 or 4 of their best to test their fitness here. I think they are choosing 3 Olympians out of these 7:
Bekele
Legese
Kitata
Geremew
Lemma
Wasihun
and Shifera Tamru

Whoever is the Kenyan third athlete (A.Kipruto or Kipchumba) may struggle to contain the second or third of these Ethiopians.

Twenty days: hoping for a list this week. Maybe Abera Kuma for one?
There was a story on Monday last week that Kipchoge will face 2012 Olympic Champ Stephen Kiprotich in Hamburg.

NN running team socials have announced 3 more competitors including a second woman: Haven Hailu. Debut in Mumbai, third in Jan last year in 2.28.56. Has a half in sub 70 and is born in 98 so there could be some improvement there but still a long way behind where i guess Tirunesh is hoping to land on her comeback.
Others are Filex Chemonges, the Ugandan NR holder, and Laban Korir, not young but 11th under the Kenyan flag at the last Worlds. Laban is a regular on the flat fast Dutch courses.
Three local German women named are Katharina Steinruck and the Schoneborn twins.
NN running have named the list on their website. Mostly the same as last week before the delay and moving countries.

Can't wait to see if he can make the Ugandan Olympic team. 2.08.25 is their third best qualifier.
I wonder how the Cuestas twins will go?

Not seeing anything available in the US aside from YouTube (and Flotrack). Anyone know if any of the east coast networks will be covering it?
