Pacing did slow down too much after going out too fast (27.15) to get the record, but he looked very good in those parts of the race that France 4 deigned to show around its triple jumper deciding whether to jump, which they absolutely could not have shown on tape after the race.
He said it was very easy, so he is in outstanding form already. Impressive how much he put on the field. He should be able to get that world record next time out with better pacing, but it's not necessarily worth getting when the real prize is the outdoor season, whether that means Olympics or Diamond League alone.
