no there are more than 2. there top 4 guys are kenyan or zambian. 1-robert cheseret. 2-obed mutanya. 3- sam mwape. 4- jonah maiyo. and 5th mohamed trafeh. if they all run well, the could place well. just my opinion.
oopps, 3rd man isnt sam mwape,,,its Moses Mpanga.

by u of a- i thought you meant arkansas- not arizona. miscommunication.
Ok if anyone saw Bairu at Griak you wouldn't be nearly so confident about Arkansas chances... cause its gonna be a crap shoot for Arkansas to win and thats a fact.
I'll give Bairu and Boit a toss up. Kosgei and Solinsky are a good match-up. Forrest and Withrow will also be a good match-up assuming Forrest does not begin to over-train as he has in the past. He has been their number one in training for a while now. Then I like Summerside, the first non-qualifier in the heats of the 5k outdoors along with Rodrigues, Perkins, Barnicle, and Cormier. I take them over Ford, Lockhart, Eagon, and Nelson. It could be close, but it won't be as close as you would like.
I'll take Tim Nelson 8th in the 10k outdoors!!!
You are right about the long way until NOvember 21st, but the thing about Arkansas is that they don't start doing workouts all early like other programs do. I bet they just started them the other week, they peak just in time for Nationals. They are training through all their races. They will crush Wisco and CU! 4040404040404040404040404040404040404040404040 was here!
What team, in their right mind, would start doing serious workouts "all early" if they were confident they would be at the National Championship in late November?
Oh. I guess Arkansas is the only one...
But, again, they do field a great team.
I promise you Wisco and CU have been doing them...
Since when did Kiplagat start running for Arkansas. That was a convincing win in a great time. That said,It should be a close contest with who comes 5th being the deciding factor.

He didn't, and he hasn't.
Wisconsin really has not begun the workouts yet either. They are still building up.
Don't even mention Perkins in XC until he does something in a meet that means anything. He had a great track season and hopefully will come around in XC also (but has not yet)

It's pretty guaranteed that everything they're doing is geared towards NCAA's and nothing else.
Regarding workouts, runners have to do some early on. It's not like running 5:45-6:00 miles from July through October with a couple weeks intervals will ready someone for a 29:00 race. Faster workouts aren't just a 2 week formality.
If someone said they were doing only distance runs for a year and waiting until the last 10 days for faster stuff, it'd be endorsed in here.
Bairu and Boit are a toss up. I'd give Kosgei the slight edge over Solinsky. I would give Withrow a decided edge over Forrest. Summerside could match up with any of Ford, Lockhart, Eagon or Nelson, but, the remaining three Badgers are all better than Rodrigues, Perkins, Barnicle and Cormier, and Wisco's Wagner is just as good.
That's all on paper, of course. Actual races are much more interesting.
All of UofA's Mohamed Trafeh's buddies from Duarte HS in SoCal and his family will be really surprised to learn that he is Kenyan and never told them about it.
