Um...Texas is becoming more and more liberal as people from outside the state move in. The HUGE renewable energy industry there will continue to bring in educated liberals. That is NOT a win for Conservatives.
The other two states have older retirees moving there, so that's still a bonus for for Conservatives in those two states, but if Texas ever flips to blue (and that's a real possibility), Republicans will never win another Presidential election.

"Bring in educated liberals. " Not from what I've experienced. Where do you get your science based information Flagpole?

You say this proudly like it’s a good thing. So, you want to be Denmark with its, theoretically, free market but 60% tax rates? Trumpism aside, you do realize the Democratic Party is shifting further to the left, and, while it claims to be the party of the disenfranchised, the victimized, the middle class, and minorities, it is merely the best party at taxing and spending without really solving any problems at all. Ever.
These people fleeing to states like TX, FL, & AZ are fleeing because of liberal policies in places like CA and NY. You want to continue to see capital flight?
They are locusts. They have utterly destroyed the environment they lived in. They move on to other fertile land to destroy that now.
Anecdotal, but we moved to TX in 2020 from the Midwest and I would say 2/3 of the transplants we meet are Republicans who couldn’t stand the taxes in their old states any longer. Yea, the migration is bringing in Democrats too, but I think the numbers still lean red

It’s going to push us to move very shortly to a more tax friendly state too. We live in CO, not a bad tax climate, but I’m sick of the cold and the left-shifting politics. Everyone moving here is from CA it seems. Bringing their politics with them. I know many educated, well-off conservatives who are thinking just like us. Why would you stay in a place like CA, NY, or IL if you could get out?
Look. Just let me live my life. I wish no harm to you or anyone else. I just don't like your vision of America and forcing it on me. Now attack people like me and try to get me fired?
Unfortunately the Republicans tend to lose when that occurs because a lot of the influx is Democrats fleeing places like CA and NY. It causes red states to turn blue. This phenomena occurred in my home state (CO) and the results have been a disaster.
Imagine actually reading Outkick articles ??

Like in Georgia?
You are making a lot of assumptions there, brother.
1) Wanting more liberal policies does not equal at all wanting a tax rate of 60%. That's just right-wing nonsense. Biden is going to immediately re-join the Paris Accord, stop the "Muslim Ban" and other policies that idiot Trump put into place. None of these things have anything to do with having a 60% tax rate.
2) Democrats REJECTED the further left candidates (Warren and Bernie) and went with a moderate who then picked another moderate as VP. Just because SOME Democrats want much more liberal policies than the norm does NOT mean that's the way of the Democratic Party. And again, we REJECTED those very liberal policies and people.
3) The tax and spend mantra is tired and just not true. Obama had a larger tax cut than Trump did. Kennedy and LBJ also gave big tax cuts, and George H. W. Bush famously RAISED taxes after he said he wouldn't "read my lips, no new taxes".
4) People "flee" to AZ, TX, and FL because they want warmer weather in retirement, and we have a LOT of older people of retirement age now and have for at least 15 years. The demographic is changing though. In 20 years, the vast majority of retirees will no longer be so conservative.
5) There are legitimate reasons to leave CA and NY. The main reason is that it's expensive to live there. It's expensive because it is desirable to live there. CA has some extra problems -- fires, earthquakes, air pollution in LA. The air pollution in LA and also in Phoenix by the way is in large part due to topography and weather patterns, but it is a problem nonetheless.
6) A LOT of people left CA for Oregon and Washington too. Those two states haven't turned more conservative. Houses were cheaper than in CA, so people who wanted that moved.
A lot of people are working from home full time now. The big cities in these 3 states would be good places to live with lots to do.

Anecdotal AF.
Why has Texas been shifting blue then?

Why has Texas been shifting away from solid red?

I'm sick of this bullcrap line. Colorado was never a consistent "red state". In the last 40 years we had exactly 1 GOP governor. The state house changes hands consistently, We've always been big on the environment, education and women's rights.
Additionally, we get large numbers of people from Texas, Arizona, Florida.
Maybe Colorado is more "blue now" because Republican policies in the state are basically "no new taxes"...that's it. They have no ideas and don't know how to govern.
Please go to wyoming and cry there

Because Republicans suck.

More often than not it's the conservatives that are frustrated and fleeing the liberal states so they're not necessarily making these conservative states liberal.
Your presidential prediction is short sighted. Under Reagan, it didn't look like Dems would ever win again and Clinton wouldn't have won except that Perot split the Republican vote. And then under Obama, it didn't look like Republicans would ever win again and most didn't think Trump would win, but he did. Politics swings back and forth. Give it time. Only once since WW2 has the same party won the WH 3x in a row. Nothing rallies the opposition party in the fight for the middle votes that swing like the cry for change.
