That's so very Des....lol.
There's a reason why so many enjoy having her in the running circuit.
Always real with no pretense.
Way to go, Des!

...and one of the best marathoners the US has ever had.
Her confidence is good on her.

Arrogant? I just think it’s funny. Des is the realest person in American running.

I have a feeling how you see that quote will depend on how you view her. It is either funny as heck or a sign of a psycho. Or both:)

What makes that arrogant? It's more self-effacing than anything.

Arrogance personified. I have ZERO against her personally, and yes I've met her....another human being in the grand scheme of what is really important in life. But some people like to think up little sayings and act "all that"---that was not a spontaneous thing. You've got your opinion and I've got mine. She's arrogant.
So you're a misanthrope
You've just clearly shown your high level of ignorance. So you're an ignoramus, eh?
I win
I think it was a dig at letsrun since many poster’s here love $h!!ting on and talking trash about elites. Reposting their social media so they can masterbayte off the clicks it receives. Just like now. Just now there’s a thread about an old NOP runner taking hits at Hall. You guys love drama.
Only someone who knew they lost would respond like that.
I completely agree.
It's funny as heck and yeah, you'd have to be somewhat psycho to be all bundled up and still win in the freezing weather in Boston.
Lol
If you know Des you would realize it is not arrogant. It is 100% true though. Des talks crap about everyone in the industry. She hates the World. I saw her in rare form in LA in 2016 the night after the OT. She was dumping on everyone.

Details?
The strange part i see here is that Des Linden is far less "arrogant" than Desiree Davila ever was.
The younger Davila was more outspoken, partially because I think her marrying laid-back Ryan did mellow her out.
But I don't see the issue. Linden is from Chula Vista. People from San Diego County or neighboring cities are generally very vocal about most things (see: Jason Karp and Josh Cox as well) and we/they don't feel the need to apologize for it.
I lived in San Diego most of my life...I think Desiree represents us well.

Yo your projection couldn't be more naked. Quit being so thirsty for affirmation, look within and learn to accept and love yourself despite all your flaws.
I thought this was a funny quote. You people are joy killers
