Hunter has to be getting tired of being sat an kicked on. Grijalva could have gotten the olympic standard if he'd done a little work earlier on.
im sure they are mad they didn’t pick it up earlier. Just missing out on the olympic standard but they’ll be back. Drew sucks at kicking man. He always has but this proves it.
Cooper looked promising with his late surge. Could see Coop and Luis at the olympics
That guy is the real deal. 5000m at US Trials will be loaded...
except for BTC.
Fisher, Lomong, Mcgorty, Hill, Centro, kincaid,
the 5k is loaded
Done? He just pr'ed by four seconds...
Lrc is weird
Awesome run -- hope we can just be happy for all of them but I'm sure Drew got absolutely smashed after doing a ton of leading. They all ran well. They all got rewarded for it.
O’Lionaird couldn’t even make it 3k and was off pace from the gun. Not dead yet tho...
Very good chance Grijalva will be competing in the Olympics. Not many people from Guatemala running 13:16. Was that a NR?
Luis just beat Diego Estrada’s NAU school record by 13 seconds. Cooper also would be #2 all time at Oregon just ahead of Ed Cheserek (although I think Ches could have run much faster).
Drew hunter outkicked in a 13:17 race by a collegiate runner.
I have said it before and I’ll say it again, unless he gets serious about developing his closing speed (leaving tinman) he will never be a factor in championship races.
13:17 is a good time. But when races that matter come around you race to WIN, not for time.
He couldn’t close in 57, that’s about 5 seconds slower then what you need to be closing in to be competitive.
He was instructed to help pace it seems

Diego Estrada ran 13:15 at NAU, so no - Luis did not run a school record.
Tyler Day also ran 13:16 at NAU, albeit indoors.

This.
It seems he was the only one of the lead group that was interested in getting the Olympic standard
Grijalva reminds me of a kid I coached about 10 years ago. Confident in his kick but not confident enough to push ahead on his own if the situation calls for it.
I'll care when Grijalva does something other than sit and kick in a race.
As for Drew getting beat by a college athlete, lets be honest Grijalva is a pro

Is Cooper Teare a pro as well?
Let's see what happens when these three get in a race that goes 13 flat and they are behind 5 guys. None of these three will be kicking.
This is Hunter's second race after over a year layoff due to a foot injury. I think it was amazing to run that fast on his second race coming out from a long layoff. You need to have patience. He will be rolling by the spring.
He’s like 22 and ran 13:16. Calling him overrated is absurd
