Former Ursuline HC Daniel Tutsky to John Carroll as Assoc HC
I am confused. Where is Maverick Darling now? Did he get out of coaching?
Who has turned down EMU so far?
So....the Ursuline Head Coach (D2) leaves to become the John Carroll Associate Head Coach (D3)? I read the press release, however someone make that make sense.

Probably more money
Clarke Kansas? Think that’s a mistake on state. IA
Huntington and Indiana Tech are both full time jobs.

It appears the new hire is Tyler Deck Shipley, formerly of Temple. Also appears that his position at Temple has been filled already.

Ursuline traditional undergraduate programs remain women-focused. No facilities.
Ursuline is a woman’s only school that is pretty much nursing specific (90 percent?) with no outdoor track facilities. Also remember he does have a family. JCU is right down the street from Ursuline so very convenient especially if his spouse has a job in the area. JCU will be easier to recruit kids especially with their academics and better facilities.
Chris Neal of Furman turned down EMU. He's been interviewing a bunch the past year. Rumors that FU distance funding is...well ..F'd?
New offer made for EMU, should know who Sue decides on any day as they've had 4 on campus for interviews.
How many people have turned down the job? Chris Neal would have been a good hire
Chris probably makes more money than 75% of P5 distance coaches. Not going anywhere. Certainly not EMU.

It was advertised as a Men XC Head Coaching position and that's why people were interested including myself. Then after talking it was just a stopwatch holder position, why so many have turned it down. False advertising.
Stop watch holder? I don't think so. It's a position to coach the male distance runners.

Yeah no chance this is true. Definitely more than just holding a stopwatch.
And for the record, ALL coaches hold stopwatches. Just about the dumbest saying ever.
EMU offered a coach from out west first, he turned it down before Neal.
It’s a good position, their men’s team won their conference meet this fall with a solid showing.
Looks like it was pretty well advertised to me. Took me 30 sec to Google the job on EMU's website. Maybe you should do a little research before blindly applying.

To be fair, It was originally posted as a Assistant position....not a lot of good applicants applied apparently (Looking for a Power 5 coach or a big time name) They changed the position to have this person coach men. Really surprised people are turning it down, must be something going on at EMU we dont know about!!
Does anybody know what the salary is? Maybe its not high enough to attract "power 5 of or a big name"
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
