3:57/7:49 maybe doesn't stack up with their current athletes, but it compares decently well to their collegiate PRs. He's also seen a crazy improvement curve in college (4:14 frosh, 8:09 soph, 7:59 junior, 7:49 senior) and is extremely versatile (3:57 mile and 28:45 10k) which are both desirable traits. Jerry probably sees his talent level as a potentially 13:00 guy with a little development and is picking him up for that reason.
How is that versatile? How many 3:57 guys can't run 28:45?
He’s from Thailand and will probably be the best runner from their country. Makes bowerman look better to have a top countryman that will be competing at Olympics and worlds and also helps diversify the team. Didn’t think that it was that confusing.
They aren’t paying him anything. Word on the street is Jerry would take most top 10 at NCAAs type guys so long as he doesn’t have to pay them. He will have to prove himself to become an actually full fledged member. His parents are purportedly rich, so apparently they’re funding his living currently. He’s a decent runner, but whether he has the actual potential to be a top guy in there program seems unlikely to me.

According to TFRRS, out of the NCAA men who ran 3:57 or faster this indoor, only Tuntivate had a 10k PR under 29:00. I'll go ahead and make an assumption that on the right day, Klecker and Teare could do it, possibly Adams, Hoare, and Beamish. That's a pretty short list.
Perhaps... the Nike marketing machine?
Southeast Asian market?
In the Philippines he could one day hold every record from 800m on up?
Will struggle to keep up in training sessions though. The Bowerman Track Club is the best group of runners in the US.
IDK maybe he will sell shoes wrote:

Everyone struggles the first 1-2 years with Bowerman. Nothing new. Callouses take time.

You really think he'll change from Thai citizenship to Filipino? Based on exactly what?

Most of them can't.
Yea he's very good but he's a small fish in a big pond for sure

Not exactly. He is actually from the USA where he was born and raised. His father is Thai and his mother is Caucasian from the USA. He did spend a couple of years in Thailand as a small child but grew up in Delaware.
BTC just updated its roster webpage.
https://www.bowermantc.com/pro-roster
All 26 athletes are there -- 13 men, 13 women including team "rookies" Johnson, Bartelsmeyer and Debues-Stafford -- but no Tuntivate.
As stated above, he is training with the team but is not on it.
Bump for the lulz. 27:17 going 13:47/13:30
Worst take of the year. Congrats. ?

I saw him on their Instagram page and was surprised to see his TFRRS page wasn’t more impressive. 3:57 and 7:49 are obviously great times, but not tops in the country like other Bowerman members.
What am I missing?
Does 27:17 do it for you?

I honestly can’t see this guy running all that impressively. His only moderately impressive time is his 3:57, and some high schoolers can do that now a days. His 5k/10k are a joke for BTC
I think we can safely say tonight that that post did not age well. Hmmm. 27:17 seems pretty BTC level to me. But hindsight is 20/20 (not to be confused with the year 2020).

Srisung’s records date back to many years ago so I don’t think he will be so pissed, in addition guys like threesome will laugh about the half falang Thais stealing their records so it doesn’t really make that much difference.
Tell me more about the threesome

This is idiotic -- it was a legitimate question when every single other BTC college recruit has been an absolute stud. An absolutely awesome result, but it hardly makes this thread the worst take of the year. I'm sure you have a good answer for why Bartelsmeyer is on the team? (Other than the fact that he is German).
We merged two threads into one. The other one was called, "Harvard runner Kieran Tuntivate joins Bowerman?"
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
