Pops, at what age did your dementia kick in? How many family or friends have you noticed that have abandoned you because you're a raving lunatic?
When did you take the first sip of orange kool aid?
Did you at one time support moral and ethical leadership? Or have you always hoped for a devisive wannabe strong man?
I have a lot more questions but I'll leave it here for now.
Philly shuts down indoor dining again! :(

philly barback here.
thankful that the city is taking measures to mitigate the spread and thankful that I still have a job. That’s all there is to it, y’all....many people will never bounce back from this -
The election isn't over. Trump will win. And the Dems know it.

The lockdowns aren't hurting businesses. The virus is hurting businesses. Even if everything were allowed to open, very few people want to go out and risk their lives for mozzarella sticks or whatever the f-ck, because the virus still exists and is a real risk to them or vulnerable people they care about. Business will not return to normal until the virus is under control no matter what rules (or no rules) are in place.
The solution is to close nonessential businesses, mandate masks, restrict gatherings, etc. AND financially support businesses who are struggling because of COVID. Rent relief/eviction moratorium/wage support/anything else we need.
Then when the vaccines are out, reopen. Businesses won't be successful until then anyways, so let's protect people's health and support small businesses for the next 3-6 months until that happens. -

Please sir. This kind of common sense posting is not what the DB is really looking for. Thanks. -

Come on. The take away is that liberal states and cities have based everything they do on scientific evidence. Follow along or die.
When someone says "scientific evidence" they're usually full of crap. Science means exactly this: the set of facts that can be proved by the scientific method, and the actual application of the scientific method. Very few of the "facts" being reported about COVID-19 are science. It's mostly a bunch of correlations and opinions from people wearing white lab coats. Expert worship is not science. Expert worship is what science was supposed to replace. -

Why don't you post pictures of your houses and tell us your monthly income so that we can confirm that it's people who live well-off, comfortable lives that are encouraging these stupid measures? -

Philly is doing the right thing.
The right thing would be to let the legislative branch pass the laws, let the executive branch enforce the laws, and let the judicial branch decide if the other two are legit. It's not that difficult. But the liberals don't want separation of powers or a system of checks and balances. Not anymore, at least. The fact that so few people are complaining about this, and the fact that so many sheeple don't understand the reasoning behind this means America is doomed. We'll be a third world socialist sh*thole in ten years. -
People are doing just that. As if T paper could protect you against the virus.

Why do you think well off people who can avoid the virus are the ones who want to pay others to stay home? Kinda seems like the people forced to serve you jalapeño poppers to avoid being evicted during a pandemic are the ones who’d want a government-sponsored shutdown where they collect unemployment.
Also you didn’t say anything about why those ideas are stupid. If they’re so dumb it should be easy for you to say why. -

Speak for yourself. I'm not worried about getting COVID, and I dont interact with vulnerable people. I live alone and don't have friends like a good letsrun troll. Yes, businesses will suffer due to fewer customers during this time. But fewer customers is better than none at all.
Also, by allowing young healthy people to be exposed to the virus (at least young healthy people who do NOT cohabitate with elderly or infirm folks) we will reach herd immunity faster. And herd immunity (by exposure to virus or vaccination) is the only way out of this.
I love this fantasy that the federal government can just subsidize pay everyone's rent, pay everyone's wages, and prop up small businesses for 2 year while we're waiting for a vaccine. Who exactly is going to pay for that? -

Well, it turns out that indoor dining/bars, and gyms, as well as house party type events are the major events spreading covid-19.
Also, in the opinion of this august and acclaimed practitioner of the scientific method, you must be a dumb fuok if you elect to go inside anywhere with people you do not cohabitate with. Especially if they are anti-maskers.
My family has gone to the gym 4x a week for the last 6 months, flown on planes, attended church, and dined in restaurants. Our kids are in school in person. No Covid. We wear masks as required.
I wish every time someone complained about shutdowns there was a hidden pop up next to their name that indicates who they voted for.
This sample size is ABSOLUTELY scientifically relevant.... -

If this were true, then we would not need lockdowns.
Clearly people do want to go out. The people have spoken. Governors should not be allowed to do this.
