maybe 2-3 pounds. I haven't really been trying to get it down. If I want an extra beer, I'll drink it. If I want a bowl of ice cream I'll eat it.
I do realize that it should come down 10-15 pounds if I actually want to run faster.

I am the same way. good food and drink is worth having.
A man's got to know his limitations....That's what Dirty Harry once said
After years and years of injury, I've finally been able to put together months of mostly uninterrupted running. I've had to really scale back the volume, intensity, and frequency, but I haven't been hurt in a while now. I know a lot of these threads come and go, as has my 50th birthday, but I thought I'd circle back to this one.
10/18: 4 miles progression. 3 miles pretty easy. Last mile at 7:32
10/19: 5.15 miles easy. First 1.5 were a very slow run with the dog. The rest were at about 8:50-9:00 pace
10/20: Off. Feeling exhausted, from teaching, coaching, ADing
10/21: CV Intervals. 1.5 super slow with dog. Then 4 x 3 minutes (7:20-7:30 pace) with 1 min rec. 4 miles total
10/21: PM. Rode alongside my team on a 10 miler Got a little extra sprinting back and forth between groups. A big portion was on a road of crushed walnut shells. Nice and soft for the runners, but a slog on the mountain bike.
10/22: Lifted in the morning. Was planning on a short ride when I got home but was just bushed.
10/23: 5.15 miles progression. about 800 easy to start then steady state (8:50 ish) for 2.5 then threshold ish (8:00-8:10) for the last 2
10/24: Easy spin 30 min on trainer in the garage. Pretty sore from 10/23 and there was an atmospheric river drenching us.
10/25: Slightly less easy 30 min spin on trainer. Atmospheric river still in place
10/25 PM. 20 min weight circuit
10/26: 1.5 Warm Up, then Igloi (ish) fartlek. Fast segments were short (20-25 seconds) or slightly less short (45-50 seconds). Worked down from 6:45 pace at the beginning to 5:58 pace for the last 45 second segment. Felt pretty controlled. Tried to keep the pace decent on the jogs. No set distances but was just doing 1 or 2 light poles in my neighborhood. 4 miles total
I haven't run any sort of time trials in a long time. Almost exactly 1 year ago, I TT'ed a 7:17 and felt like death. Not sure where I'm at now, but there are some Turkey Trots coming up......
Still like to eat. Weight holding steady at 183.
Good work.
Keep it up man!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
