A nice article on Cheptegei appears below. Is it just me, or does he sound a little more focused on the track now and less focused on moving up to the roads? I figured he'd primarily be a track guy through 2024 even before his loss but maybe it goes on longer now?
I love the guy. Check out what he did during the early stages of Covid-19. "I did some gardening at my grandparents' house. But mainly, I worked at my school in town. It's a primary school, and I worked on some renovations there, like painting the walls.”
Such a simpler life than trying to take a video of yourself cooking dinner for instagram.

Also a much simpler life than contrived hot takes for the running website.

Depends on "dominate." If he literally wins every race, basically like Mo Farah over his run, then I don't think it is necessarily good.
But if he wins the majority, but with competition (some actual rivals), then it could be good.
Think of Geb during his career. He had to deal with Komen at 3000 and 5000, Tergat at 10000 and later Bekele at 10000. Even when he set his two marathon WR he wasn't necessarily considered the best marathoner at the time, with most (including me) giving the nod to people like Wanjiru, Martin Lel, and even Tergat earlier on.
