The guy even gave the cop two different names, first Robert Jones, then Jimmy Jones.

This dude escaped (for the third time) by mailing himself out of prison at the bottom of a shrink-wrapped pallet of mail bags. Credit where it’s due I guess.
Thanks for posting that. A fascinating read. Its amazing how resourceful those criminals can be. He was somehow able to steal cars and cash without being detected, enough to keep under the radar for months. He was even able to cross in an out of the US/Canada border many times.
It would be easy for us runners to get away with anything. We can run in all sorts of weather at any time, day or middle of night and have strange routes. We can do anything and when we are running away it is just literally part of our training. If we are stopped they will see we are dressed as real runners, have garmins etc. They will let you continue your run and escape from whatever you done. Also there is no need for a getaway car. If you have good endurance then that is fine. You can also go off the roads and through trails if you are running.

That happened in a town right outside Alexandria, Louisiana. If l am not mistaken, the officer passed away a few years later.
The officer was a very good officer. I believe he passed away some time later, but l don't think it was in the line of duty, but because of natural causes. I am pretty sure l am correct.
hilarious!

Quit whining. It’s classic and has aged like a good wine, and unlike a stinky cheese that smells like your feet.
A guy smart enough to mail himself out of a federal prison, talk his way past the cops, then crisscross both the US and Canada for a year in stolen vehicles spending stolen cash, has clearly got the brains but isn't using them right.
All you have to do is make it to a non-extraditing country and get them to let you stay. Next best option is to hide in the wilderness like Colton Harris-Moore or that guy they finally caught in Utah a few years back. You can hide in the wilderness just about as long as you can survive.
Yes, you're right. I read his friends and family said he was the nicest guy in the world until he took a wrong turn. I wonder what happened.
Wasn't there a guy who survived in the woods in Maine for about 20 years?
