I agree that we all need to show more compassion to each other. This applies to both sides. I pray that her grandfather is able to come through this wretched virus and again be with his family.
Weird! It has a runner talking to a major media outlet about a very current topic. Isn't this the kind of stuff they said LRC was all about? What runners converse about when they amble about together?

That's hilarious considering the far left dominates this site. Whatever the topic is, it dissolves into "Trump sucks"
"Will Cheptegei break the world record today?"
"If the weather is good I think he has a chance."
"Doesn't matter, he's a foreigner and Trump is xenophobic. And Trump is a racist. And he is trying to kill all Americans by not wearing a mask."

Maybe one day you will understand that whining about how "everything is left" really means the right are the ones who are wrong.
"Whaaa reality has a liberal bias"
Kara should just go away! Stop blaming Trump for things he is not saying. Still a crybaby

Is there another Let'sRun? I'm not familiar with that one you're talking about.
Is it really COVID that kills a 96 year old man? It's not the myriad of other issues that individual might have gotten through 96 years of living? COVID may indeed be the last straw that breaks the camel's back, but let's not lose sight of the 500 pounds of crap accumulated over a lifetime that was on the camel to begin with. According to the CDC's logic, anyone that ever had COVID is counted as a COVID death, and using that criteria, they have determined that 200,000+ Americans have died of COVID in the past 9 months.
Using that same criteria, one can argue that 1.2 million Americans have died of HSV-1 in the past 9 months as well. We need to have shutdowns so that we can stop the spread of HSV-1. Kara's grandpa likely had HSV-1 when he died as well. Kara probably has HSV-1. Why is nobody sounding the alarm about HSV-1? It must be lethal if people are dying with it.

This thread is what we are about and we encourage this discussion.
At 2 am last night I see there was a thread that mispelled Kara's name and was titled, "Kira Goucher is Mad as Hell at Trump" that got deleted .
We do limit non running/political threads so I bet a mod deleted that thread without looking at the context of it.
What are her thoughts on her husbands notoriously xenophobic comments on foreign athletes competing in the NCAA?
Please be respectful. Her grandfather is at the end of his life.
"We've lost our compassion a little bit" is what she said at the end. Please think of that.

Not true. Here's the actual CDC coding guidance for those who care:

she is using a very public forum to shame people who have a different view point. That is all I will say about it.

What does that have to do with the topic of this thread? In typical trump fashion personally attack someone that says something you don't like.
You should be ashamed!
It's just odd by expected where she picks and chooses her outrage.
In my opinion using your grandfather to slam Trump and gain points with the liberal media is disgusting.
English fail
I give everyone a pass on whatever dopey things they say when they are losing/have lost a loved one. Her misdirected anger towards Trump is just a reflection of probably getting most of her worldview from social media.

no. people should not bring their sorrows to public, attached to political messaging. that is cheap and self-centered.
their is a line you shouldn't cross, but we don't need to enable her and others who might think it is a good idea to do themselves.
I missed the news her grandfather passed away yesterday. That is on the homepage as are articles discussing this. I'm locking this thread.
