Stryd vs GPS distance.
A friend has Stryd and was telling me that it is more accurate at distance than GPS.
This does not make sense to me. My thought process is that the pod has a small error associated with its calculation & variables which gets multiplied by thousands of steps adding up to an appreciable error. In contrast, GPS is recording actual coordinates along your path then connecting the dots, so as long as you have good GPS signal it is very accurate.
Am i missing something here? Ive seen others say that stryd is very accurate as well, although most are bloggers who might be just regurgitating the marketing literature. IDK.
Maybe they are pumping up stryd by comparing it in its ideal conditions/setup to a GPS with poor signal or something like a run through city streets?
How exactly does this pod calculate distance? (including formula & variables)
People are talking about having to recalibrate for diff shoes & lacing. What if you have several shoes in rotation? Do you just accept the error, or take the time to calibrate all of them?
