Kipchoge said he had a ear blockage and a cramp in his hip which came on in the last 15k of the race, he seemed visually shaken and the interviewer even commented that he was shaking during their interview, I don't think it was the cold as was implied, I think it must have been the shock and stress of losing so badly, Kipchoge is shook I don't know if he will mentally recover from this.
LRC note: Kipchoge talked to the BBC's Gabby Logan. "I am really disappointed I thought I would run better. I had a problem [with my] right ear. It was really blocked... Then my side was really cramped..." She then noted he was visibly shaking despite wearing a huge puffy jacket and asked him about the conditions. He said, "It was really cold but I don't blame the conditions. I think it's good to blame the problem with the ear. "
She then asked if there were any more marathons in him "Absolutely yes. [There are] still marathons in me. I'm still there to come back again."
