What shoes did Sara Hall run in? Didn't look like the metaracers but looked like it was asics, a prototype?
Anyone know?
LRC note: We talked about the shoes here.

Yeah high stack ASICS prototype
I thought shoes had to be available to the public for a few months before they could be used in competition now? SMH.

Special approval? Sounds shady to me.
I wonder if Ryan will have the same opinion about his wife wearing prototypes as he did for Kipchoge and Nike athletes?

Running is SHADY
That is almost certainly an adidas with ASICS upper.
No way that is any form of flyte foam or blast.
I suppose it is allowed because the technology is widely available.
asics the world athletics sponsor..."special rules"
Or fcuk, it's a goddam highly select elite only field racing so everybody racing has a brand feeding them any MFing shoe they want, nobody who lined up today was buying shhitty shoes off the azsfcuking shelf.

What shoe did Lindsay Flanagan run in? She’s an ASICS athlete. Wonder how available it is even within the brand.

Does anyone else notice the irony in this statement??
Ya considering Ryan’s strong stance against VFs, this is kind of hilarious. You ok with this, Ryan?
I agree it’s a bit hypocritical, but likely just leveling the laying field against Nike and Adidas athletes.

It’s more than that. Everyone wearing VFs/AFs today was doing so legally - any joe shmoe could have worn the same shoes. Sara was wearing shoes that NO ONE ELSE OWNS. Medical issues my ass; what, do these shoes cure asthma or something?
Ryan is about to be real quiet.
Hypocrites grind my gears!!

On another note, wonder if Stephen Scullion gets “special approval” from his sponsor, UA, to wear blacked out Nike super shoes (not sure which version).

Pretty sure the rules say now you can have prototypes if they are available to other non-sponsored athletes also.

From 30 April, any shoe used in competition must have been generally available to the public for four months - meaning an end to the use of prototypes such as the Alphafly, which are not on general sale.
